Losing a partner
Many people who lose a husband, wife, lifetime partner, or girlfriend or boyfriend, will feel completely lost. It may feel like a part of you has died too, and it’s okay to acknowledge that. After the initial shock has eased, normal duties must be resumed. You may find yourself having to perform little day to day tasks that had previously been taken care of by your deceased loved one.
This might include paying the bills, mowing the lawns, or doing the washing. Whatever they may be, it may be difficult for you to tackle these things alone so don't be afraid to seek the support of someone close to you to be there with you while you carry out these duties for the first time or two.
At some stage you will need to start planning for your future. If your partner had life insurance, read through the policy document and submit your claim. The reading of your partner’s will, may also answer a lot of your questions.
