Quentin Grady

Quentin left his physical body on June 7th 2010. The funeral ceremony was held at the Cresswood Chapel in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand on Friday 11th June.

In keeping with Anthroposophical principles, Quentin rested at home during the days prior to the funeral ceremony. During these days family and friends visited Quentin to bid him farewell in their own special ways.

I offer my deep appreciation to his work colleagues and friends at the Hastings Farmers Market in Hawke's Bay. It was through your friendship and support that he found the inspiration to write his book 'Nutrition For Blokes'.

Quentin's friends are scattered all over the world, keeping in touch via the internet. I will always remember and be eternally thankful for the friendhip and support you gave to Quentin. You also helped helped him realise his dream of publishing his book and setting up his website.

Quentin's ashes lie beneath a Kowhai tree in the park where we walked our dogs, Gypsy and Rex. His tree lies to the left of his seat donated by family and friends. Gypsy's ashes lie under a Kowhai tree to the right of Quentin's seat.

I chose the Kowhai tree as it is among the most beautiful of our flowering trees in New Zealand. It offers food and shelter to wild life and beauty to the world.

Throughout each season Quentin and Gypsy will always contribute to this universal gift.

Quentin, I wish I could put it all into words. The world is a far better place having had you in it. Thank you for your friendship.

Quentin used to come to chat with the nickname "Eloquence". How very true. Quentin always provided good information in a friendly manner, and in a manner that was easily understood by the 'layman'. Quentin would chat on Skype from time to time, giving good suggestions to assist my son in his learning endeavours. He would also talk about how much he loved his dear Tricia, and what little things he did for Tricia, and how much he appreciated everything Tricia brought to the marriage as well. I have since learned that Tricia is every bit as Eloquent as Quentin was. Quentin, your memory will carry on in the lives of all of us that you have touched.

Quentin was not only dynamic in that he learnt so much and passed his wisdom and knowledge onto others who needed help, he also took time out to respond privately to others - he regarded those who also took time out to wish him well and offer general banter in email as friends and his responses were always with kindness, thoughtfulness, humour when required and panache. I miss him. The photos Tricia has kindly put on view bring a tear to my eye. Quentin was a beautiful human being and his essence will live forever.

Quentin, If I could reach up and hold a star for every moment you loved me, I would hold the evening sky in the palm of my hand,

Tricia
